BetEasy Bookmaker History And License
BetEasy is a Northern Territory licensed bookmaker with an office in Sydney. The service was branded as Betezy until September 2014, BetEasy until March 2015, CrownBet until August 2018, and now BetEasy again.
The Betezy brand was originally launched in 2005 by the bookmaker A. Kay, trading as AK Racing. Prior to that AK Racing used the domain bestoddsbet.com, which was launched in 2003. Under prior management Betezy had a chequered past, having previously come under investigation by the Northern Territory Licensing Commission and the ATO.
BetEasy is very much focused on the Australian market with only Australian dollar accounts offered. The website is only available in English with decimal odds. BetEasy is an approved betting partner with the AFL, NRL, Cricket Australia, and tennis Australia.
BetEasy is Australia’s fastest-growing bookmaker, with more than 110,000 newly-registered customers to date in fiscal 2015. BetEasy is the exclusive wagering partner of the AFL for the next five years.
BetEasy Sports Betting
BetEasy offers markets on a broad selection of sports and the depth of markets per event has improved substantially over the last few years. Typical numbers of markets to expect are Tennis (ATP/WTA): 9, Baseball (MLB, Japan): 35, AFL: 80+, NRL: 70+, NFL: 40+.
BetEasy Horse Racing
Thoroughbred racing is available for venues in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Hong Kong, and the UK. Harness and greyhound betting is available for tracks across Australia and New Zealand.
Win/Place, Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta and First Four markets are available on most races, while doubles, trebles and quaddies are available each day for most venues.
For most Australian thoroughbred venues, Fixed, Best Tote+ (for Win) and Best Tote (for Place) odds are available. For harness and greyhounds, you get Midi Div and for overseas thoroughbreds, you get VIC + 5%. Note that Best Tote is the best win dividend of the three TABs while Best Tote+ is the best win dividend of the three TABs and the official Starting Price.
BetEasy offers the Sky Racing channels, which enables you to watch all Australian thoroughbred, greyhound and harness racing live.
Live online betting is not available for Australians. Australian customers must phone in to bet live. BetEasy’s live sports betting line up is limited, with only NRL, AFL and NFL available at the time of review. If live online sports betting is what you’re after, be sure to check out our survey of betting agencies that offer live online betting.
The interface uses the ubiquitous three-column layout with sports listed on the left, markets and odds in the centre and the betting slip on the right. The sports navigation menu is static. When you select a sport, two “Filters” are displayed at the top of the central column. For example, if you select ‘Soccer’ a filters for countries and leagues are displayed.
When you select a league a list of matches is displayed with head-to-head odds shown. For some leagues, such as the NRL, the Line, 1-12 and 13+ odds are also concisely displayed for each fixture. Below each fixture is a link to view all of the markets for a particular event.
The betting slip functionality is very typical of a modern betting interface. When you add more than one selection to the slip you have the option of submitting single, multi and/or “Extra Multi’s” (such as Doubles, Trebles, Yankee, Lucky15, etc.). When you enter stake amounts the potential returns are automatically displayed. You can toggle the display of the betting slip by clicking on the button at the top right corner of the slip.
